Mums in Spain was born from my own need to make contact with other mums. When I found myself pregnant at the start of 2006 I was desperate to find some up to date and accurate information about being pregnant in Spain, delivering a baby in Spain and whatever might come next! Heaven only knows that wherever you give birth you hear plenty of horror stories, but Spain seemed to have more than its fair share! I trailed the internet and found small pockets of information here and there but nothing comprehensive and from fairly dated sources. It made the prospect of giving birth over here even more nerve-wracking than it could have been had I been able to really talk to others who had already been through it.
After giving birth to my son the need became even stronger to get out and meet other people in a similar situation to me, as well as the desire to share what I had experienced myself, and so Mums in Spain was launched in February 2007. I have been doubly fortunate to have made some wonderful friends via Mums in Spain and I hope that others will find it just as helpful!
This is a community for mums built by mums so if you are looking to meet other parents or seek advice from those in a similar situation to you we have a lively forum as well as an Articles section covering all manner of topics relating to raising a child in Spain, an A-Z Directory, a busy Mums in Business section, and a great source of Spanish birth stories, and so much more. Being a parent can be hard work but also very rewarding - come and share your experiences.
Please enjoy!
